| When I try to install a SUPERAntiSpyware program update, the list of available updates is blank, or the download fails with no error message. How do I fix this? |

To check for program updates:
- Close the SUPERAntiSpyware main menu.
- Right-click the SUPERAntiSpyware icon (the yellow/brown bug) in the system tray (near the Windows system clock).
- Select the "Check for Updates" option.
In many cases, this issue is resolved simply by restarting Windows. If you haven't done that already, please try that first.
If you have a firewall protecting the computer, be sure the firewall is set to allow SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and SSUpdate.exe to access the Internet.
Occasionally, this issue may be caused by a malware infection. Update your definitions with the "Check for Updates" button on the SUPERAntiSpyware main menu, and run a complete scan to confirm that there is not malware blocking the update process. If you get an error message when you attempt to download definitions, note the error message and resolve that issue first.
In some cases, it's necessary to uninstall and reinstall SUPERAntiSpyware. Exit SUPERAntiSpyware, and uninstall using the Uninstallation Assistant. Then restart Windows. Re-install the current version of SUPERAntiSpyware from our web site, and you should no longer have the problem. |
